Battered Antique Guan Yin for sale in Thousand Oaks, California

$200

Mahalo Antiques of Honolulu, HELLO, released a certification of authenticity calling this a Sung Dynasty Chinese image of Buddha. On the other hand, Burbank, CA, Appraiser Erica Voogd-Phillips called it a possibly-16th-century figure of Guanyin. I've recreated her appraisal verbatim below, as I presume it's the more accurate.

As you can see from the photos, this 12" tall x 9" large x 5.5" deep wooden statuary is very used, split, with flaking and dark paint, one hand missing out on, and extensive pest damage; it has been sprayed to stop the damage. I'm not attempting to conceal anything-- this is one battered piece of spiritual art! However whether you're interested in purchasing it on a gamble and getting your own appraisal, or you just desire an interesting little bit of antique Chinese statuary as a curio or object of veneration, it's probably worth more than you'll spend for it right here-- I'm asking for a cost below its appraised value since of its shabby condition.

$200, money just, no shipping; I will eliminate this advertisement when the statue has been sold, so there's no have to ask about availability. Please be considerate and just text or call in between 9am-9pm; e-mail's constantly OK.
